Parallels Desktop 3.0 for Mac now supports 3D rendering! What does that mean? Now you can utilize:
- Video editing/rendering software
- Games requiring 3D rendering (read: most games)
- OpenGL
- DirectX
- Various standard applications as AutoCAD
This isn’t even touching any of the other features included with Parallels 3.0.
Previously, I would only use Parallels for front end web development or for the occasional Windows Media Player use. For any hardcore work or gaming, I would revert to my wintel machine. Now, I can stay with the comfort of my MacBook. There’s no better time to switch to a Mac. View video shorts featuring Parallels at the Parallels blog.
Version 3.0 is not a free update. You can purchase the upgrade or buy new via any reseller. I highly recommend all to learn more about Parallels 3.0, purchase the full version, and/or buy the upgrade; I view this upgrade as 100% worth the $50 pricetag. My credit card, please…
