I post this on flickr and not two days later, Apple releases tasty new technicolor shuffles. I want the orange one… anyone want to trade?
The brother has been ranting about the bane of rumor blogs lately. In doing so, he noted that AppleInsider has posted not 19, not 20, but 21 hi-res photos of the tasty orange iPod Shuffle. Did someone make an order of overkill?
I’ve taken my fair share of unpackaging photos, but 21 pictures of a shuffle seems a bit excessive, especially when it’s the same as the first generation… except, wait! It comes in orange!

I find it interesting that so many people are going nuts over the orange one–myself included. I read an article a while ago that said that when people were surveyed about their favorite color, orange is consistently at the bottom of the list. Orange has been my favorite color since before I could read, and when I tell people that it is, I’ve gotten replies like “that’s weird.” Now, the orange shuffle comes out, and even though I have absolutely no use for a shuffle, I’ll probably buy it, just because it’s orange. I thought that I’d be one of the few who did, but apparently not. People don’t like orange unless it’s on an iPod. Hopefully Apple comes out with an orange iPod nano next. That I definitely will purchase.

I’ve been fond of orange for a while. I’ve been on an orange kick. I do agree though, I’m questioning the popularity of the orange iPod - it may experience a momentary increasee of popularity just because it is the new color. Recall the bomb of the gold iPod mini? Perhaps Orange is the new Gold
If you don’t have this version of the shuffle, though, I highly recommend purchasing it. It is a beautiful device and so incredibly conveniently miniscule. I love it.
