Cheap RAM
Vida November 21st, 2003Garage sales rock.
There was this computer at a garage sale. The price tag was $4. It had in large letters “NEEDS WORK” written on it.
For four dollars, I’d strip it for parts. So my dad buys it for me.
We take it home, open her up, and every single card is knocked out of the slot. Nothing is plugged in. Thus, nothing is wrong with the machine.
Fruits of the purchase:
- 512MB of PC100 RAM (which I can use on my machine)
- floppy drive
- ATX motherboard
- NVIDIA GeForce 2MX
- modem (unfortunately, no drivers could be found)
- Creative Sound Blaster 512
- Two hard drives (haven’t checked them out yet)
- A hideous chassis that I will throw out
Altogether, not bad for four bucks.
